The latest addition to the Trevor James flute family is the beautiful Mopane (Rosewood) model piccolo with headjoint embouchure cut by English maker Andrew Oxley.
This new TJ wooden piccolo model not only looks fantastic, its also tonally different from the usual Grenadilla wood models which you would usually associate with step-up piccolos. It has been designed with ease of playing and quality of sound production as it’s primary focus. This TJ rosewood piccolo has a well-rounded tone with the capacity for clear and distinct notes. A beautifully performing instrument.
Wave headjoint: This headjoint profile is carved with a slightly higher front wall & lower back wall for easier control over dynamics and a more focused lower register.
It is not always easy for flute players to transition to playing the piccolo, so the Trevor James wooden piccolo has been designed with ease of playing and quality of sound production as it’s primary focus. The headjoint has a reformed embouchure hole to give added focus to the sound along with tonal warmth and freedom of dynamic range.

New to the Trevor James range, the 3TPGVR piccolo is an excellent addition to the range of step-up piccolos.
Made of Grenadilla, also known as African Blackwood, this piccolo offers warmth and depth of sound usually associated with much more advanced instruments. The rosewood headjoint gives a slightly sweeter sound than the Grenadilla model.
