Ultra-Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ)

From 29 August 2023, Croydon will be in the expanded Ultra-Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ). For vehicles that don't meet emissions standards there is a £12.50 daily charge. There is more information on this on the TFL website.

Congestion Charge

We are not in the Congestion Charge zone.

Parking

There are pay and display bays in South End which are often available during the day. Parking is free after 5pm. If you are planning to stay longer than an hour, there is a pay and display car park on South End, around 100 metres North of the shop. The car park is called Spice's Yard and the entrance is by Kingham's garage. You can use the RingGo app in this car park and on the street.

Directions by rail 

From Central London - approx 30 minutes

Trains are frequent and direct to East Croydon or West Croydon from London Victoria (Victoria, District and Circle Lines on the tube) and London Bridge (Jubilee and Northern Lines). Alternatively, get any train to Clapham Junction and catch a fast train to East Croydon (usually platform 13).

Direct trains also run to East Croydon from the South coast, Bedford, Watford and Luton Airport. Virgin Trains serve East Croydon once daily from Manchester Piccadilly, Birmingham New Street, Oxford and Reading.

From East London - approx 40 minutes from Canada Water

London Overground trains run direct to West Croydon and provide a direct link from the Underground/Tube network. Change at Norwood Junction for a train to East Croydon. Trains run every 15 minutes. The following interchanges to the tube/DLR networks are available:

  • Whitechapel - District/Hammersmith & City
  • Shadwell - DLR
  • Canada Water - Jubilee

Walking to us from East Croydon station

Turn right out of the station and walk down George Street. Cross the dual carriageway (Wellesley Road) and carry on walking until you reach the Natwest Bank on your left. Turn left into the High Street: we are about a 15-18 minute walk from here, and will be on your right.

Walking to us from West Croydon station

Turn left out of the station and walk down North End. At the junction with George Street (with Allders on your left), cross the tramlines and walk straight on. We are about a 15-18 minute walk from here, and will be on your right.

Directions by bus

Several bus routes run directly to our shop. Tramlink, with connections to Wimbledon, is about 15 minutes away on foot and takes you to East or West Croydon.

The closest bus stop to us is Aberdeen Road and is directly opposite the shop. From East Croydon, walk to bus stop E7 (opposite the station), and take the:

  • 119 towards Croydon Collonades
  • 312 towards South Croydon Bus Garage
  • 466 towards Caterham-on-the-Hill

From West Croydon, walk to bus stop WB (coming out of the station, it's on your right), and take the:

  • 60 towards Old Coulsdon
  • 166 towards Banstead or Epsom General Hospital
  • 405 towards Redhill

Directions from Airports

LGW London Gatwick

There are two terminals at Gatwick Airport: North and South. The train station is in the South Terminal. There is a monorail link between the two terminals which runs frequently and only takes a few minutes. You can catch a train direct to East Croydon. Trains are fast and frequent, and you can check the times at National Rail. Journey time is approximately 30 minutes.

London Luton

Take the free Luton Airport shuttle bus from outside the terminal at Bay 1. This will take you to Luton Airport Parkway station in around 10 minutes, from where you can catch a First Capital Connect train southbound to East Croydon via London. Trains are fast and frequent, and you can check the times at National Rail. Journey time is approximately 1 hour.

London City

Take a northbound Docklands Light Railway service to Canning Town. Change at Canning Town for a westbound Jubilee Line service to London Bridge then down to East Croydon. Journey time is approximately 1 hour.

Take an eastbound Piccadilly Line service to Earl's Court. Change at Hammersmith for an eastbound District Line or Circle Line service to Victoria, then down to East Croydon. Journey time approximately 1 hour 20.

Take the Stansted Express from the airport to London Liverpool Street. Take a westbound Circle Line, Hammersmith & City Line or Metropolitan Line service to Farringdon, and change for a southbound Thameslink service to East Croydon. Journey time is around 1 hour 45.
