5 out of 5 “Wonderful effect”

I'm very happy of having installed the Celestine rexonator on my flute, it sounds better since: it's like having progressed in my sound quality in a single leap what otherwise would have taken several years to accomplish.
If you follow the videos, it's very easy to install. I think I'll buy another one for my new flute which is about to arrive. Uncork your flute!

I think Rexonator is a great thing. The flute sounds much better. It's a little harder, but you can get used to it. A description of what the different settings do would be nice.

5 out of 5 “Makes a real difference - not a gimmick”

I installed the Rexonator recently on my Arista headjoint. I had owned the previous version of this - the Rhino Resonator, but the enhancement offered by the Rhino Resonator was minimal compared to the Celestine Rexonator.

The most obvious features when installed are the added resonance, projection, the enhancement of the lower register - adding power and stability when pushing the dynamic levels. The coloured rings change the brightness of the sound: black is the darkest (made of a softer material); white is similar to black but not quite as dark (slightly firmer material); red is brighter still and brown is the brightest and hardest of the rings, which makes it the most difficult to stretch onto the Rexonator. If you need to cut through dense instrumental textures, the brown ring really helps, but if performing a solo recital or chamber music, one of the darker set-ups would be better for blending and balancing the sound. It's worth experimenting - and it's helpful to have the facility to customise the sound depending on the repertoire being performed.

Installation demonstrations are provided on Utube, however, in my experience removing the cork is never as easy as shown in the videos. In my case I had to cut the cork off the assembly because it was so solidly attached - which is always a nerve-racking experience if you're attached to the sound of your current headjoint and are worried about making a permanent change. It was worth the sacrifice in the end and I'm very happy with the result, although it does add to the weight of the headjoint. Some of the metal rings can be removed from the Rexonator, which would reduce the weight a little if required.

For those unable to upgrade to a new headjoint or instrument, I would suggest giving the Rexonator a try. I would also recommend the Rexonator to professional flute players - in my opinion, the enhancements provided exceed those of other tone enhancers I have tried and the Rexonator is invisible when performing - only you know it's there.
