Product Reviews: Yamaha YRB-302BII Bass Recorder

I have a range of Aulos recorders which have given sterling service for many years...
I've had an interest in the Bass Recorder for some time without actually taking the plunge...
Seeing this Yamaha available and knowing their reputation for quality provided the excuse to add it on to my larger order...
And on arrival, the pleasant surprise was how easy it was to play with a sweet tone and minimal over-blow problems
The build quality is superb...
Looking forward to some 'ensemble' moments...and unusual solo excursions..!!

Great instrument although heavier than I expected. Some intonation problems but using alternative fingerings helps. Super case and well made. Putting the recorder together was not an easy task as the middle joint so stiff. I now cannot undo it which means it won’t fit in the case. I’ve greased it but the parts don’t fit together easily. That’s my only criticism. The response is very good especially in the lower register but it will easily go up to top F and beyond. All in all very happy but just wished it could have been easier to put together and dismantle.
