Waltz for Flute and Piano
- Interesting, worth a look
- Editor's Choice
This is a slightly quirky waltz which might appeal to those wanting something a little more contemporary but without alternative techniques. It is a little tongue-in-cheek perhaps, with a conventional waltz rhythm coupled with unexpected twists to the harmony. The molto espressivo performance direction is to be played at crotchet = 140 rising to 160 for the coda which gives the whole piece a slightly restless feel. Well - I like it anyway!
Difficulty level, roughly compared to ABRSM exam grades. 0 is beginner, 9 is advanced (beyond grade 8).
