“Lovely music for four flutes”
This and its companion Echoes of the Ancients are based on the melodies of Native American music. The feeling of space conveyed in both is wonderful, with textures building and ebbing away. There is a wider use of new techniques here, with quarter tones, timbral trills, harmonics, flutter tonguing and wind sounds adding even more depth to the sonority. These are two very interesting pieces - enjoy them now!

Intended as a follow-up to Echoes of the Ancients (ALRY #FQ-58), this work is slightly more adventurous and is a great introduction to extended techniques. With full explanations in the notes, players will experience timbral trills, microtones, as well as some pitch bending and harmonics. Scored for four C Flutes.
