After a brief introduction of semiquavers passing around the whole quartet, the main there alternates between the top two parts, underpinned by parallel 5ths in the lower parts which gradually become more rhythmic. After this the parts become more rhythmically and melodically independent, and several key and style changes lead to a more calm ending.
