From the Publisher

Sussex Suite is dedicated to my mother, Françoise Lehmann. It is in gratitude for the lovely home she has bestowed to my daughter, Clara, and me (as well as our black cat, Popi) in Eastbourne Old Town. We love our home, Eastbourne, and East Sussex: the beautiful countryside by the sea, idiosyncratic traditions, and seafaring folklore. Sussex Suite is based on English and Sussex folk songs, dances, and tunes.

The five pieces are inspired by places near us:
1. Pevensey Polka
2. Long Man of Wilmington Waltz
3. Hymn of the Hastings Fishermen
4. Jolly Jig of Eastbourne
5. Melody for Motcombe Mews

The Suite is a duet, although the 1st flute can play solo. The 2nd flute plays melodies too, so it is not just a harmony part. 1st flute is Grades 2-3 and 2nd flute is Grades 1-2. There are optional guitar/piano chords.
