The twelve short exercises are all given titles so they add a musical point to a technical necessity, and the mix of solos and duets ensures that a different focus is given to each one. Finger control, tuning, rhythm, legato playing and chromatics are all areas that challenge beginner flute players and here they are covered in a knowledgeable and intelligent way.
