- Interesting, worth a look
Our Description
This composition was written in 1902, and was premiered by Parisian Georges Barrère. Though the piece is long at some 27 minutes, it was well received at its premiere. The second movement has a thick aura of Tristan, with its ultra-chromatic harmonic language. It is unusal in that it seems to draw more influence from German rather than French models.
