“Love it or not!”
Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
Your reaction to this flute quartet will depend entirely on how you like your classics. Verdi's beautiful Musetta Waltz has been given the 'big-band jazz-age swing' treatment by Daniel Dorff - now that takes real imagination! That the arrangement is skillful is without question so if your group has an instinctive feel for both styles and a great sense of humour they'll love it. Or not!
From the Publisher
Using the beautiful Musetta’s Waltz from Puccini’s "La Boheme" as a jumping-off point, Daniel Dorff offers flute quartets an opportunity to swing like a big band from the jazz era. While the Bass Flute "drives the bus" like a string bass and rhythm section, the Piccolo, C Flute, and Alto Flute take turns playing lead, showcasing each player and the unique color of their instrument. Suitable for high school through professional quartets.
