The Singing Fish for Alto Saxophone and Piano

The Singing Fish was commissioned by Gillian Blair. The first performance was given by Gillian Blair and David Gibson at the European Saxophone Congress in Porto in 2017. I was drawn to the rebellious exuberance of Joan Miro?’s painting The Singing Fish. It is colourful and bold, radiating a great sense of fun, whilst also being slightly strange. This is my musical depiction of Miro?’s fish! Lucy Armstrong
