“The perfect partner?”
This piece will look impressive in performance - it is printed on 5 separate sheets! Aside from that though, this is very interesting. Entitled "Safran", the piece is all about colour and timbre. It is also quite playable if you feel inclined to have a first go at contemporary music on the piccolo. It is mostly conventionally notated and although there are some multiphonics they are well sign-posted. Yes there are a lot of notes to learn in a 7 minute work, but it might prove to be the perfect antidote to yet another virtuoso Victorian gem - or perhaps it's perfect partner!

From intense yellow to transparent orange to red-brown, colour evolves, the substance gets richer, denser under the effect of light....From the sparkle to the blaze...a trail of fire to passion...a feeling that grows and fills up one's inner... a secret colour.
