The composer starts his work by quoting the first two bars of the introduction. Zgraja himself said that "surprisingly, it were the figures of accompaniment of the original which inspired me the most". He changes the theme to the minor key and gives it all a distinct Spanish touch - an association which results from the name of Riccardo Drigo.
