“Such a beautiful piece”
If you are not familiar with the name of Geoff Eales this is a great piece to start discovering his music. A sad but beautiful melody is accompanied by subtle jazz harmonies which give a real sense of peace. Absolutely lovely.
This piece is all about beauty, sadness and tranquility and this should be reflected in any performance. You will see that occasionally the composer has written a low B in the flute part. If you don't have this note on your instrument, bars 13 - 16 ( first two beats ) should be played an octave higher; also the first note of bar 71 can be played up the octave.
Difficulty level, roughly compared to ABRSM exam grades. 0 is beginner, 9 is advanced (beyond grade 8).
