From the Publisher
Commissioned by Peter Verhoyen for the “Piccolo Power” series of concerts at the National Flute Association this piece is a musical joke of sorts with playful rhythms, rude harmonies (and anti-harmonies) and an unspeakably sugary middle section that is so sickly sentimental that it may cause nausea, before quickly being dispelled and ripping back into the chaos.
The music is written for three advanced players with a sense of humour, all of who should be prepared to do some silly acting before the piece begins, and the third piccoloist should have an iPhone (or anAndroid I suppose) to take a selfie in the middle of the piece - don’t forget to tag me when you post to social media!
