This lovely piece, originally written for piano, really lends itself to an adaptation for the flute. The silvery melody depicting fairies dancing around a fountain swoops and swirls in true French flute writing style. Cascading scales and arpeggios become more passionate as the piece develops and unusually there is a strong ending. This would make a very good interlude in the second half of a recital programme - it's beautiful!
