From the Publisher
This charming cantabile song was originally composed by Charles Hine for his first wife, Laura, in the apple orchards of rural Kent in 1980. In 2022, the piano accompaniment for this flute and piano arrangement was realised by Phil Toms from the original manuscript sketches under direction of the composer. The duet explores a lyrical main theme with a chordal accompaniment, followed by a rhythmical Jamaican rumba and quieter middle section. It returns to the main theme and concludes with the lively rumba.
