This piece consists of two consecutive parts; Lament and Black Sea Dance. While writing the Lament movement I was inspired by the music of Turkish Minstrels. Minstrels sing with the accompaniment of 'saz' or 'baglama' in response to a sad or happy event, the music and lyrics are almost always improvised. That's why the lament has a very free structure. In the Black Sea Dance I was inspired by the folklore dances of the region. The dance incorporates elements from fast and energetic folklore music. In this section the rhythmic structure is at the forefront.
