“Fascinating John Cage!”
This fascinating work for winds by John Cage is rich in texture and rhythmic complexity. It is the style of the music rather than the technical demands on the instruments that will prove difficult, with each movement using changing times and voicing of the parts to make its impact. There is also the obvious variation in the scoring of each movement which adds yet more colour to the piece as a whole. This is definitly worth exploring if you would like to add an extra dimention to your concert programme.
