Our Description
Editor's Choice
This is a great book for starting off on a journey through jazz improvisation. The CD contains downloadable accompaniments which can help reluctant pupils as there are no performance tracks included - it's a choice of either straight backing or one designed for soloing. The pieces themselves range in difficulty from Not That Much which is in an easy C 3/4 to All That Jazz which ventures into 5 flats. The really good thing about this book though is the level of support it gives to fledgling improvisors, with a 'first try' suggestion, a notebank and an example for each piece. There is also a 'further ideas' comment for when you get really confident! It's all well presented and easy to use - a winner.
Difficulty level, roughly compared to ABRSM exam grades. 0 is beginner, 9 is advanced (beyond grade 8).
