Gloria by Gay Kahkonen for Flute Choir. Premiered by the Under One Sky Flute Choir with direction by Dan Parasky at the 2025 Annual Convention of The National Flute Association in Atlanta, Georgia. From the composer: "This is an 'instrumental' Gloria, meaning that the text of the Gloria from the Mass was used to determine the rhythms and shape the musical phrases within the piece, but that the words cannot necessarily be sung in the traditional manner of vocal choral music which tends to move by step and small skips. The listener may never know how the words of the Gloria fit in, but that is no matter, as the joyous intent of the piece rings true."
