Gaelic Lands for Clarinet, Violin and Cello

Gaelic lands is a piece full of emotion, portraying in 2 movements the traditional ‘Caoine’ of Gaelic Ireland which is a traditional wailing for someone who has died. Many of these wailers were employed at funerals to lead the mourning. In this first movement the music explores the deep sense of loss and heartache that one experiences when a loved one dies. The second, contrasting movement ‘Feargach’ explores anger which can sometimes be experienced whilst grieving.
