“There's always room on your shelf for a book like this.”

Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]

Weinzierl and Wachter have amassed a high quality collection of duets in which the range of repertoire on offer is particularly interesting. Unusual pieces from well-known flute composers such as Kuhlau and Teleman are mixed with arrangements of Beethoven, Mozart and Mendelssohn classics. Less familiar names include Agrell and Rorich so there are plenty of tunes to choose from. Add in an atmospheric Genzmer vignette and two pieces which include some simple contemporary techniques and you have a long-lasting volume which will appeal to everyone. Even if your shelves are bursting with flute duets there's always room for a book as good as this.

From the Publisher

From the almost inexhaustible pool of flute duets, the editors Elisabeth Weinzierl and Edmund Wächter discovered lesser-known treasures from four centuries for this collection in order to make them (re)accessible to the interested flute world. As authentic sources as possible served as models for the compositions: autographs, early copies or first printings that made it possible to approximate the original text.
