The five little duets are lovely! All are short but each one really packs a punch. The three slower movements weave their spell by using the differing sonorities of the two instruments to create elusive textures. Movements 2 and 5 are faster, with more emphasis on rhythmic contrasts. The technical challenges are manageable, the style intriguing and there is nothing else quite like them around at the moment!
