“These are good!”

Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]

What a delight it is to be able play two straightforward but lovely pieces on the alto! The arrangements are very good with all the writing in the middle of the range  making them very friendly to play, and the contrast of the slow Waltz Triste and the perky Humoresque is perfect. These really are good!

From the Publisher

Franz von Vecsey (1893—1935) was a Hungarian violinist and composer, quite well-known throughout Europe despite his rather short life. Most notably, the Violin Concerto of Jean Sibelius was dedicated to him at the age of 12 following a sequence of unfortunate events surrounding the multiple premieres of different versions of it. As a composer, von Vecsey was most well-known for composing virtuosic salon pieces for the violin, and thus, two of them which make a rather complimentary pair are arranged here as a set of Fantasy Pieces for alto flute and piano: Valse Triste and Humoresque.
