Cori Spezzati con Variazioni - Flute Septet

This piece is written as a split ensemble: flutes 1/2/5 and flutes 3/4/alto with bass flute as an intermediary. The effective stage setup is bass flute in the middle with piccolo, 1st and 2nd flutes lined up on stage right and 3rd, 4th and alto flutes lined on stage left. The two groups develop motives, playing with and against each other, with bass flute interposed between them. Because harmonies (developed plagal cadences from the period of "Cori spezzati" style) and fourth harmonies are often used in this song, a kind of technique in how to make the chord resound will be required.
