“A quirky trio!”
Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
This adaptation of a wind trio will take some rehearsing! There are plenty of notes here for all players and the dovetailing nature of the writing presents quite a challenge. The slower middle section has a sad melody set low in the range which creates a darker colouring before the Allegro returns. This quirky piece is strangely engaging - enjoy!
From the Publisher
French composer Paul de Wailly (1854 1933) originally composed this Aubade for flute, oboe and clarinet. It was premiered by the Société moderne d'instruments à vent in Paris on March 7, 1902, with flutist Georges Barrère, to whom it was dedicated. This arrangement by Shelley Collins adapts the work for two C flutes and alto flute.Performance duration (approx): 3'30
