“Alto flute for everyone!”
Theobald Boehm arranged a good deal of classic music to promote his new alto flute although these three gems were not published during his lifetime. Luckily the manuscript survived and we have them, beautifully edited, to enjoy now. The Beethoven and Mozart slow movements have been revoiced to show the instrument at its best, and incorporate some of the lyrical writing from other parts. Haydn's famous Theme and Variations has a more technical focus with the embellishments illustrating the full range of the instrument. These are all lovely - alto music for eveyone!
