“A beautiful volume.”

Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]

There is some wondrous music in this book which could be subtitled Baroque's Greatest Christmas Hits. The slower pieces, such as the fabulous 'Frohe Hirten' from Bach's Christmas Oratorio, work really well with the flutes sharing the melodies between them to sound like voice and obbligato. 'Sound the Trumpets' and 'Laudamus te' provide a more upbeat contrast helped along by the accompaniments. The arrangements are all excellent so everything works very well, and the addition of the lovely Manfredini instrumental is a bonus. This is such a beautiful volume which is perfect for all sorts of Christmas events. Don't miss it!
