5 Sonatas for Flute and Basso Continuo, QV1:105, 12, 167, 15, 47
Of approximately 200 flute sonatas by J. J. Quantz, the favourite court musician of the King of Prussia, Frederick the Great, five were introduced to the public by the excellent Baroque flutist Benedek Csalog. These attractive pieces composed in the Italian style were recorded a few years ago by the artist, but they appear here in print for the first time.
Difficulty level, roughly compared to ABRSM exam grades. 0 is beginner, 9 is advanced (beyond grade 8).
