B. Bernards is the pseudonym of Bernhard Kutsch. He was born on July 24, 1882 in Berlin. At a young age he went to Moscow and was trained there at the conservatory, including with the Russian composer Michail Michajlovic Ippolitov-Ivanov. His main instrument was the clarinet. Returning to Berlin, he published these studies, among other things, under a pseudonym in the 1920s. Bernhard Kutsch died on January 11, 1951.
