Product Reviews: Chester's Easy-Peasy Theory Set 1

We bought this because we already had set 2 but that proved to be too difficult for our kids (6 and 8 years old). So far I have not been able to find a Dutch written alternative so we bought set 1 too.

During our last holiday we worked through most of this set with the whole family at one paper a day. I can read music myself and I found the order in which the subjects are discussed is not always logical to me. I mean, I would discuss rests before intervals etc.

But all in all a nice method that delivers the theory in good sized chunks. I am curious how the kids (and my wife) will do at set 2 now they have done set 1 first.

PS: extra handy is that the set is in standard A4 (and not in the slightly larger size most sheet music is in). This made it a lot easier to make a copy for all family members to write in.
