I needed something to carry a non traditional instrument (an Ancient Greek Aulos!) and so I needed something that was around the same length/dimensions as a flute cover case that would protect the instrument (which is made of wood) along with the reeds. This flute case cover was perfect! the exact dimensions I need, with internal padding to ensure the instruments protection - in a case that is durable and portable....
