Product Reviews: Légère French Cut Alto Saxophone 2.25 Reed

I’ve been using cane reeds until now. I tried one brand of synthetic reed but was dismayed by an overly bright tone. The Legere French Cut are superb.

I am using a 3.25 strength on a Vandoren AP3 mouthpiece and it works well. It was in tune across the octaves and is so responsive. No wetting time - it just plays well from the start. The sound is rich and compares favourably to cane reeds I was using.

I cannot comment on durability but the supplied case offers great protection.

sounds great, easy to play, and consistent. best synthetic reed i've tried by some distance, and better than many cane reeds too!
