“Wiseman case disappointing ”
Disappointed.
Couldn’t get my muramatsu c flute into the case. Nor my Yamaha.
Sent it back.
Looked lovely from the outside but didn’t work for me.
“Excellent protection for my flute”
The foot joint of my Pearl Vigore was rattling around in its original case, so I decided to buy a Wiseman traditional case to protect it better. It did not disappoint. However, it initially took me a little while to set up the adapter for the C foot. What the manufacturer does not make clear is that there is a flat pad under the adapter piece which covers a piece of velcro. This is intended for a B foot but it needs to be removed if using the C foot adapter as the adapter is held in place by the velcro. If it isn't removed, the adapter sits on top of this pad and is not secured. Also, the adapter is then in a raised position, which makes the foot joint sit too high and prevents the case from closing easily (which in turn would result in pressure being put on the mechanism if the case were forced shut).
With regards to daily use, I found that the main body of the flute is much easier to insert at a sideways angle.
All in all, I'm really pleased with this case. It offers excellent protection and there is a good choice of external finishes and lining colours
“Great protection - but expensive and non-standard length.”
The case fits my Arista C foot flute perfectly and the design prevents the flute coming out when the case is opened and turned upside down. It also prevents movement of the joints when travelling (unlike my previous Arista case). The C foot plug can be removed to accommodate a B foot. However, the case takes a little getting used to at first.
The high gloss case looks beautiful (burr wood, blue lining) but it doesn't fit a standard flute case cover - it's longer than a traditional flute case. So I now need to buy a Wiseman case cover (adding further to costs) and these are difficult to find in stock. If I'd known about the size issue, I might have opted for an alternative or gone for the tubular Wiseman case, but at around £450 the price of these seems excessive. If there was less of a mark up Wiseman might sell more!
