Product Reviews: MK Kelpie Low D Whistle

I am a beginner at playing the low D whistle, and purchased this one because of the reviews.
It is a great whistle and the only thing I have found uncomfortable is the finish is very slippery and makes it difficult for the thumb grip.
But that being my only gripe, and a piece of adhesive tape helps.

MK whistles have a gorgeous tone and are so playable, easy enough to change octaves and the whistle feels great too with the anodized metal.

MK whistles are, in my opinion, the pinnacle of what any discerning end blown flute player can strive for. It’s a shame the low D Kelpie will be the only fixed tuned whistle they make soon, I’ve ordered a low F kelpie from Just Flutes as they are about to discontinue this instrument. It would seem they are going the way of Goldie whistles which are now only available tuneable. So much for the instrument of the people. Any way, that’s enough ranting. Just flutes are reliable and professional, shipping is lightening
Fast and it was free. I just wish the shop logo said, “Just Flutes and Trumpets”. I’ll still buy from them though.
