Product Reviews: Guo "New Voice" Bass Flute

I'm new to low flutes and I had a Rosedale bass I got on eBay for a few hundred quid. I loved the sound of the bass flute and really wanted to make some flute ensemble recordings. However, that instrument had serious problems with leaks and wouldn't even play the 3rd octave. This flute plays the entire range comfortably and easily. I find it to be quite responsive, even in the lower register. The keys are somewhat clacky, but this isn't a deal-breaker for me. It can be minimised with good finger control and pressing the keys more gently instead of slapping them down instantly. It's light and comfortable to hold. The sound is full and resonant. It does sound different to a metal flute, but not in a bad way... It's just different, but effective. I think I'll be quite happy to play on this instrument for several years before I need to upgrade to a higher-end instrument. In all, I'm very pleased with it!
