Composer's Notes
Inspired by Arthur Golden's novel "Memoirs of a Geisha", the work blends Far Eastern pentatonic techniques with Western modalism. Unless otherwise indicated, the music should flow hypnotically but, at the same time, the underlying pulse should have a very strong sense of "groove". You should almost be able to hear the bass and drums in the piano accompaniment.

Difficulty level, roughly compared to ABRSM exam grades. 0 is total beginner, 9 is advanced (beyond grade 8).
