Jazz Scale Studies for Clarinet

Our Description

'Scales and arpeggios (or chords) are the melodic and harmonic building blocks of all music. They are particularly important in jazz as they provide the player with the raw material from which to construct improvised solos. This book of studies is written to develop familiarity with the main types of scales and arpeggios found in jazz. I have deliberately chosen keys that give a comfortable, user-friendly introduction to the various tonalities. Each section of the book describes a particular type of scale and includes two studies based on it.'
- James Rae
