A family friendly Summer flute extravaganza with flutes of all shapes and sizes (piccolos to contrabass flute) at Arnside Methodist Church (LA5 0AQ) on Saturday 28th June 7pm. Over 35 flute players of all ages will be presenting a varied concert including new flute orchestra compositions, arrangements of classics and film music. Highlights will include a dazzling arrangement of the Sorcerer's Apprentice, flautists' favourite Faure's Pavane and a beautiful arrangement of For the Beauty of the Earth with 13 different flute parts and a young harpist.
Local soprano Caroline Gibbon will join us for Handel's 'Lascia ch'io pianga'. New compositions include a hilarious 'Popcorn Polka' for flutes and boom whackers and 'So Many Themes; so Little Time' incorporating over 20 film theme tunes. It promises to be a highly entertaining concert with something for everyone.
Tickets are available on the door (suggested donation £10 or pay what you can- please bring cash). Children free. No need to book- just turn up. Bring your family and friends.
Homemade cakes and drinks on sale and there will be a raffle. Please bring cash.
