Dances on Flowers for Flute and Piano
- Editor's Choice
“Playing Hans Christian Andersen!”
This difficult piece is based on the Thumbelina by Hans Chrsitian Andersen. Stankovych tries to recpature the child-like world of the the fairy tale here - there are plenty of skipping runs and rhythms to drive the music onwards. The piece is subtitled 'Quasi Sonata No 2' though, so it also has a more substance as well. Worth a look if you want something different!
