Stephen is an enthusiastic, energetic and positive teacher with vast experience and a proven track record of success with students of all ages and abilities. He currently teaches at Latymer Upper School, St Paul's School, Barnes and Notting Hill and Ealing High School for Girls. He has directed specialist courses for wind players at Hindhead Music Centre and has run workshops and adjudicated competitions at the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, The Royal Academy of Music Junior Department and the King's School Canterbury.
He studied at the RCM with Susan Milan where he won the Geoffrey Tankard and Allen John Warren prizes for wind playing. Whilst working as a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas, he continued his studies with Mary Karen Clardy and Jim Walker.
As a performer he has worked as a freelance flautist with many of the UK'S leading ensembles and orchestras including the CBSO, the Philharmonia and the National Symphony Orchestra.What I teach:
