Profile last updated: 21 Aug 2022
I am passionate about music and love teaching as it gives me the opportunity to pass my skills on to others and watch them develop as musicians. I have taught classroom music at secondary and sixth form level, and was also a peripatetic woodwind teacher for 15 years. Altogether I have over 35 years teaching experience. Apart from my teaching, I play regularly myself, and am currently principle flute with the Hallgate Chamber Orchestra and Boyce Orchestra. I give occasional solo recitals and have appeared as a soloist in performances of Mozart’s G Major flute Concerto and the Concerto for flute and harp, Bach's Suite in B Minor,Brandenburg 2, 4 and 5, and Telemann's Suite in A Minor ( treble recorder), and have played with the Doncaster Concert Band as principle clarinet. I also play the baroque flute and perform occasionally with the Leeds Baroque Orchestra. I am interested in languages and gained a first class honours degree in German and English from the Open University.
