Profile last updated: 26 Apr 2024
Based in London and Kent, I teach flute, piano and music theory to children, young, and mature students. I received a scholarship, undertaking studies on flute at Junior Trinity with Thea Cramp, and at the Royal Academy of Music with Laura Jellicoe.
A recipient of the Cassal Prize for Woodwind, I have performed in masterclasses with Karen Jones and Lisa Nelsen. Recent solo performance engagements include presenting a specially-curated recital of works by women composers for the Canterbury Music Club at the Colyer-Fergusson Hall.
My teaching philosophy is underpinned by offering the pearls of wisdom I have gathered over time from my own education. In maintaining an 100% distinction rate, my students are taught the importance of developing a personal, yet strongly grounded technique.
I hold an extensive music library at my studios, though also teach online and do home visits (travel surcharge). I am a member of the British Flute Society, and the Independent Society of Musicians. What I teach:
