More About Me
My Qualifications: BMus(Hons), MMus
I am classically-trained, but I also teach pop, world, jazz and improvisation. I enjoy exploring different genres with my students, and always welcome suggestions for music they enjoy playing. I also teach improvisation; a fun and creative way to expand one's musicianship and enjoyment of music. Furthermore I coach aural, teach music theory and I can accompany students for exams.
I have years of experience teaching flute, piano, recorder and music theory, from ages 5 to 70. I have also taught in several primary and secondary schools, and delivered workshops at university level.
I have studied with some of the UK's top flautists, and have a wide range of teaching methods, skill and enthusiasm to impart. I thoroughly enjoy inspiring my students and enabling them to overcome their barriers to become expressive music-makers. My students have excelled in both ABRSM and Trinity exams; however, I also teach non-exam music and only enter students for exams if they so choose.
