Kay Risley

I have 40 years of experience as a flute teacher and as an orchestral player. I also give piano, recorder, keyboard and music theory lessons. I am passionate about my flute tuition, committing wholeheartedly to helping every student achieve their own individual potential.

I have taught students of all ages and standards, from the ages of 4 to 80, from complete beginners to aspiring professionals. I enjoy adapting to my pupils individual needs and working out personal tailored solutions in my classes, focusing particularly on a solid technique and tone as I believe a truly beautiful sound is the most important asset a flute player can possess. I really enjoy being a flute teacher and believe this comes across in my lessons as well as in the rapid improvement demonstrated by my pupils.

Many of my pupils have won scholarships to private schools, music colleges, universities, the National Children’s Youth Orchestras in this country & abroad & Chethams.
