Katie Taunton

Hello! I am Katie, a professional flute player based in SW London.

I hold a Master's degree and LRAM teaching licentiate from the Royal Academy of Music with Distinction and previously studied at the Royal Northern College of Music (First Class Degree with honours).

I have worked with orchestras including the National Symphony Orchestra and London Chamber Orchestra and am an Open Academy Fellow at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM). Currently, I am a peripatetic flute teacher at Sir William Perkins School, the Tri-Borough Music Hub and have taught at RAM on their wider participation programme.

My lessons focus on inspiring and encouraging students of all ages and abilities to achieve their goals, whether an exam (ABRSM/Trinity), audition or performance. I hope to pass on my passion of music and love of the flute. Previous students have successfully auditioned for National orchestras and ensembles.
