Gavin Stewart is a flute player and composer who aims to develop his instrument’s repertoire through research, collaboration and performance. His career combines solo and ensemble playing with a focus on new music and has appeared at numerous international festivals and conferences as a guest artist inducing the NFA convention, Low Flutes Festival, and Waterloo Festival. His trio, founded in 2018 gave their inaugural performance as semi finalists at the St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Competition in 2019 with high acclaim for their musicianship and daring programming.
Gavin has recently been appointed as a flautist on the BCMG NEXT scheme for emerging performers of contemporary music where he has appeared on BBC radio 3, and is completing his PhD at Royal Holloway.What I teach:
