My teaching method focusses on working from first principles, moving away from confusing cliché language and encouraging students to discover the instrument on its, and your, own terms.
I have an academic background, and using the years of experience I have both teaching and through the study of music pedagogy, I focus on creating a tailored approach to each student, at all stages of your individual journey with music.
I have taught a range of ages and abilities, and am keen to help you get the most out of music, be you an aspiring professional or a passionate amateur, be it your first time picking up an instrument, you've been playing your whole life, or if you're returning to an instrument after a while not playing.
As a PhD music student, I can also help with academic coaching, university (including Oxbridge) applications, and preparation for theory exams.What I teach:
